I recently attended the first segment of The Tennessean Media Group’s “Thrive Seminar,” hosted by the Williamson County-Franklin Chamber of Commerce at the Williamson County Public Library.
Admittedly, I was a bit skeptical about what the local paper reps might be telling middle Tennesseans about website design, development and Search Engine Optimization. I left, however, impressed with Tn MG’s candid presentation and spot-on descriptions. They told the truth. They spoke frankly. And they offered small businesses some very practical solutions — many of the solutions we, at JLB, advocate and affirm.
Of course, there were the expected sales pitches and brand reinforcements that you might expect. I did learn about a new design & development branch of The TnMG, dubbed 1100 Broadway. It appears to be a marketing – graphic design – web design – SEO hybrid. It’s a clever direction for a newspaper… afterall, even though subscriptions are waning, newspapers still have solid readership online. Looks like they are finally moving toward increased ROI beyond the “traditional” ink and trees approach.
All in all, the Thrive Seminar was well done. Professional, clear-cut and candid.
