Talkin’ ’bout JLB… talkin’ ’bout you and me…

Sure he’s kissed the Blarney Stone, but the gift of gab is just one of Julian’s many (how shall we say?) “talents” at JLB. From client relations to project management, Julian helps craft successful design and communications strategies. Julian received his B.A. in English from the University of the South, spent a year on a Fulbright Fellowship and later received an M.A. from the University of North Carolina (UNC) before launching the company in 2003.

Franklin (really Nashville, because Franklin didn’t have a hospital in 1974, but I like to say Franklin, because that’s where my parents were living and where I grew up)

My Star Wars action figures (esp. Boba Fett)

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at the office?

Date nights with Debra, guitar time with Julian V (he’s got mad uke skills for a 2-year-old), and running

What is your favorite thing about your job?

Two favorites. One, I love getting to think in different ways throughout the day – whether it’s writing ad copy, strategizing a search engine optimization campaign or digging into XSL web code. And, two, when our strategies help our clients – it’s extremely rewarding. They succeed, and we feel a certain measure of satisfaction in being a catalyst for it.

What is one skill you think improves your ability to do your job here, but wouldn’t normally be in your list of job qualifications?

I take a shower every day. Seriously.

What is one non-essential possession you would hate to be without?

A watch
